Brendan: That’s nothing to feel bad about. I lived in the same house from birth until 27. Not that I didn’t WANT to move out, but I was determined to buy my own house as soon as possible, and living with mom meant not having to pay rent, only expenses, which was important on my crappy salary. I was very attached to my old house and my old neighborhood, to the point where I thought I would one day buy the house from my mom. I’m glad I didn’t; adapting to a new house in a new setting wasn’t nearly as hard as I thought it would be, and it’s amazing how quickly you can become comfortable in a new environment.

I agree about the atomic clocks being a pain the butt with regards to Daily Savings Time. The alarm clock in my bedroom automatically sets itself according to the old DST dates. I have to remember when it’s going to happen and reset it the next morning and then manually add or subtract the hour on the correct day. Fortunately, it happens on a weekend, so you have a day to figure it out before worrying about your schedule (unless you make plans on Sunday).

I must say, Jamahl really SHOULD have packed and cleaned “more” (or at all) before we were there to assist. What do you take us for–a supportive family, or a pro bono cleaning and moving staff?!

We get bob & tom here in Ok. on 107.7 krxo. This is a “classic rock” station. That means they play Lynard Skynard “Mr. Saturday night”, “Sweet Home Alabama”, and Aerosmith “Dude Looks Like a Lady” 24/7. Thats the whole playlist. Well, its not THAT bad, but you get the idea. bob and/or tom suck. They suck just as bad here as anywhere else. As a matter of fact, I hate any morning radio shows, I just want to listen to music. And a good variety of music too. I’ve stopped listening to the radio almost completely and take along my own music, or just listen to the car sounds. Much better.

It’s funny, I’ll be going through this exact same ordeal over the next few weeks. I’m closing on my house on 5/19, moving the next weekend, cleaning the apartment, and shopping for a TV, washer and dryer. Any advice on good appliances and TVs?

And I just finished BGS season 3 from netflix and recovering from my blown mind.

Anyway, I think I understand your frustration being a professional journalist yourself seeing your profession succumb to a lower level of pandering and sensationalism.. and it;s not about being conservative or whatever you think about sexuality in young teenagers/celebrities.. but destroying their lives or objectifying them and using them as propaganda tools

I think the game the media is playing with all these young teenage girls is disgusting. They are all looking for the next trainwreck/ Britney Spears. Whenever one of them is involved in a scandal they accuse them as being on the same path of Britney Spears. I don’t mind Miley success.

Aside from the hype, I’m reluctant to let her parents off the hook. Her dad posed in some of those photos. But even before that, she looked kind of like a hooker when she was interviewed by Barbara Walters. I don’t think a 15-year-old girl should be plucking her eyebrows like an older woman. And they already mention an ex-boyfriend! I guess I’m just old-fashioned, but parental guidance, or lack thereof, is the first thing I notice.
